Store manager Rhoda McFarland, 42, called from her cell phone moments before being murdered at the Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park on Saturday morning February 2, 2008. She whispered the name of the store, its location and told the dispatcher to hurry.
"Lane Bryant," McFarland whispers to the 9-1-1 dispatcher.
"Where at?" the female dispatcher asks.
"Tinley Park," McFarland replies. "Hurry."
"Stay on the line. Stay on the line," the dispatcher requests. "Don't hang up."
Then the phone disconnects.
Killed in the Feb. 2 shootings were: McFarland, of Joliet; Carrie H. Chiuso, 33, of Frankfort; Connie R. Woolfolk, 37, of Flossmoor; Sarah T. Szafranski, 22, of Oak Forest; and Jennifer L. Bishop, 34, of South Bend, Ind.
There is also record of the shooter saying "You're lucky. I'm losing it." ... presumably on a separate 9-1-1 call.
Tinley Park police released partial audio of 9-1-1 recordings.
